The message means the car can't hear the key. Usually a battery; sometimes the key or the module.
Most Land Rovers have a backup spot where a weak key can be read. Check your handbook for your model.
If the message stays with a new battery, or it's your only key. Plan for 1 to 2.5 hours if a new key is needed.
